Larry Hodge, Owner

Larry established Larry Hodge Construction in 1996. To reflect growth and changes in the industry, the company’s name was changed to Hodge Design & Remodeling in 2006. “Our name changed, but our standards didn’t.”

Honesty and integrity are the foundation on which Larry built Hodge Design & Remodeling. In his words, “We stand by our excellent reputation. As a client of Hodge Design & Remodeling, you have my word that we will provide you with the very best in both product and service.”

Larry handles estimating, sales and design for HDR, and he has 30 years’ experience in these areas. Larry is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is licensed in the State of Georgia for Residential and Light Commercial Construction. He is also Lead Safe Certified, serves on the board for the Athens Area Home Builders and is an active participant in the Remodelers Advantage Roundtables.

Larry’s designations include:
Certified Remodeler (CR) as designated by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler
(CKBR) as designated by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
Certified Health Care Manager
as designated by Construction Infection Control Training Institute (CICTI).

When Larry isn’t sitting in front of a computer, working on project numbers or mastering renderings, he enjoys gardening, camping in the mountains with his wife Sheila, and teaching his granddaughters everything possible.

My father told me years ago, ‘The most important thing a person has is his word.’ I live by this wisdom, and it’s evident in the way I run my company. At Hodge Design & Remodeling, our work is derived from my personal commitment to providing the best service and product to our clients. I expect and accept only the very best from my staff and trade contractors to achieve our goal of client satisfaction. We ensure that everything goes smoothly for our clients during the remodeling process. Of course there can be occasions when the unexpected might happen, but we always correct any issue in the most appropriate and expedient manner. We do not make excuses or ‘pass the buck.’

Amanda McCormick, Project Coordinator

Amanda first worked for Hodge Design & Remodeling from 2002-2009.  She left Athens for a decade, but moved back to Oconee County in 2016. After a few years managing projects in the commercial roofing industry, she has come back to HDR full time as our Project Coordinator. Amanda's job is to keep your project organized. She manages the project details, drawings, permits, orders, and issues (if any) from the day you sign a contract until the job is 100% finished. She is also an active member in the Remodelers Advantage Roundtables.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her wife Kristen, their daughters Ava and Ansley and their rescue pups.

From initial contact, Larry Hodge was the most patient, honest and professional contractor I have had the experience of working with. Communication throughout the project was easy. The price stayed the same for the scope of work we agreed on and payments were clearly assigned to each stage of the project. Larry’s entire crew was always on time to work and worked steadily. He will be used for our next project for sure!
